3) Calculate Value of Option. Let \(Q\) be the payoff from the binary option ($5 in our example) The fair price for the binary option is then as follows. \(\text{Binary Call Value} = \mathbb{P}(S_T>K) \times Qe^{-rT}\\ \\ =\times 5e^{( \times \frac{1}{4})} \) So the fair price here is approximately $ See more The Python codes are given here: import random import scipy as sp # def terminalStockPrice(S, T,r,sigma): tao=blogger.com(0,) terminalPrice=S * blogger.com((r - 18/11/ · Some libraries described under Text Processing Services also work with either ASCII-compatible binary formats (for example, re) or all binary data (for example, difflib). If yes, then it might be better to find another broker. Consider an option that pays a fixed amount x conditional upon some event occurring in the market. The reader may realize that it is useful to consider the question above as a probability question, in that we are asking how often would the stock finish above the strike. First we will calculate this by simulation as this is perhaps the most intuitive way to look at a problem of this nature.

Below are the steps to complete this pricing method. Note we are assuming a log-normal distribution of stock prices at expiry, which is rather unrealistic but should serve to illustrates the concept.

See this article on where it comes from. Let N in the second line below be the number of draws to take from the distribution. Below we simulate 10 million terminal stock prices, this should be sufficient to get a good approximation of the true distribution of stock prices at expiration. Imagine zipping along the x axis of the histogram above, and adding one to the total if the stock price from the draw is greater than the strike.

We then count the number of ones and divide this sum by the number of draws which is 10 million in this case. The formula below represents the probability the stock is above the strike at expiration. Arguably we should we using an integral here as in the previous simulation but hopefully this way is more intuitive. The script below shows that the simulation approximates this probability as This should not be confused with the risk-neutral probability.

Although viewing the formula here should give a good intuition as to what exactly a risk-neutral probability actually is when we encounter it later on in the article. From the script above we see that the stock will be greater than the strike approximately We can also use the Black-Scholes formula to price binary options, for this we will need the d2 from the previous article.

The formulae for calls and puts are given below. Let's just take a moment to equate some concepts from the Monte-Carlo method we discussed. Notice that we can recover the probability value we got from the Monte-Carlo simulation by the following. And Pricing our example option we get approximately the same value. Increasing the Ndraws parameter will reduce this error, however we see below it is fairly accurate and they are in fact measuring the same quantity.

The formula for pricing a binary put option is given below, in this case we are measuring the probability of the stock being below the strike price. Let's try that formula out on pricing a put option with the same parameters as the call we have used throughout this article.

Now consider if we could have inferred this value without actually using either formula. Since we know that the problem is binary i. one of the two events must occur, the stock is either above the strike or below it, the following relationship must hold. To adjust this for a risk neutrality argument we can state the equality shown below.

Clearly once we know the price of a binary call option we can then infer the price of the put. print bytestr[ 0 ]. decode 'utf-8'. decode 'latin-1'. append print bytesArr. Code to demonstrate bitwise operations.

In this article you will learn how numbers work inside the computer and a some of magic to go along with that :- More detailed: While this is not directly useful in web applications or most desktop applications, it is very useful to know.

You can think of this as a light switch: Either the switch is on or it is off. This tiny amount of information, the smallest amount of information that you can store in a computer, is known as a bit. We represent a bit as either low 0 or high 1. To represent higher numbers than 1, the idea was born to use a sequence of bits.

A sequence of eight bits could store much larger numbers, this is called a byte. A sequence consisting of ones and zeroes is known as binary. Our traditional counting system with ten digits is known as decimal. Lets see that in practice: Prints out a few binary numbers. print int '00' , 2 print int '01' , 2 print int '10' , 2 print int '11' , 2 The second parameter 2, tells Python we have a number based on 2 elements 1 and 0.

To convert a byte 8 bits to decimal, simple write a combination of eight bits in the first parameter. Prints out a few binary numbers. print int '' , 2 outputs 2 print int '' , 2 outputs 3 print int '' , 2 outputs 17 print int '' , 2 outputs How does the computer do this?

Note: These are not character encodings, those come later. This clearly shows a string of bits can be interpreted differently in different ways. We often use the hex representation of a byte instead of the binary one because it is shorter to write, this is just a representation and not an interpretation. Now that we know what a byte is and what it looks like, let us see how it is interpreted, mainly in strings.

Character Encodings are a way to assign values to bytes or sets of bytes that represent a certain character in that scheme. Some encodings are ASCII probably the oldest , Latin, and UTF-8 most widely used as of today. In a sense encodings are a way for computers to represent, send and interpret human readable characters.

This means that a sentence in one encoding might become completely incomprehensible in another encoding. In Python 2, the str type was used for two different kinds of values — text and bytes, whereas in Python 3, these are separate and incompatible types.

This means that before Python3 we could treat a set of bytes as a string and work from there, this is not the case now, now we have a separate data type, called bytes. This data type can be briefly explained as a string of bytes, which essentially means, once the bytes data type is initialized it is immutable.

This presents another problem, we need to know the encoding of a binary string, because the same string in another encoding latin-1 looks different. As seen above it is possible to encode or decode strings and binary strings using the encode or decode function.

We need the encoding because in some encodings it is not possible to to decode the strings. This problem compounds when not using non Latin characters like Hebrew, Japanese and Chinese. Because in those languages more than one byte is assigned to each letter.

But what do we use when we need to modify a set of bytes, we use a bytearray. In Python, bitwise operators are used to perform bitwise calculations on integers. The integers are first converted into binary and then operations are performed on bit by bit, hence the name bitwise operators. The standard bitwise operations are demonstrated below.

Note: For more information, refer to Python Bitwise Operators. Binary data provides several applications like we can check if the two files are similar or not using the binary data, we can also check for a whether a file is jpeg or not or any other image format.
